“Her pleasure in the walk must arise from the exercise and the day, from the view of the last smiles of the year upon the tawny leaves and withered hedges, and from repeating to herself some few of the thousand poetical descriptions extant of autumn–that season of peculiar and inexhaustible influence on the mind of taste and tenderness–that season which has drawn from every poet worthy of being read some attempt at description, or some lines of feeling.”
Jane Austen, Persuasion
Autumn really is a magical time. A bridge between the bright frenetic pace of a summer and the starkness of the winter to come. A time of reflection on the things past and preparedness for the future. A truly inspirational time of year to take a walk in a park and sit and reflect.Like an artist’s brush each leaf and strand a dash of colour. Each living thing, from the smallest to the largest, preparing and bracing itself for a winter to come. The air is filled with the scent of damp fallen leaves. The birds and animals scurry to get their nests stocked up.Hope you enjoy these shots as much as I enjoyed taking them and as busy as life may be get out and sit in a park for a couple of hours, it truly is inspirational.
