Labour Day Monday, High Park, Toronto September 07, 2015

I thought long and hard on Sunday evening about where to go on Labour day Monday.DSC_0515 DSC_0516 DSC_0491 DSC_0486 So many events to choose from, so many options but after two days of very busy places, standing room only streetcars, buses and subways. Jets overhead, music everywhere I realized that every now and then it is important to step back and relax and catch your breath.DSC_0535 DSC_0520 DSC_0529 DSC_0512 High Park has always been a favourite place of mine and being so close to my home it offers a chance to regain my zen and focus. A walk through the woods, a chance to sit at the shores of a little lake, an opportunity to watch some of the everyday creatures, great and small, that call this park home. A day in the country without the 4 hour drive.DSC_0519 DSC_0545 DSC_0569 DSC_0542 Every trip here is different. One meets different birds and wildlife and in particular as we head into fall a lot of migrating birds will use this tract of land as a stopover on their trips to other places for the winter. DSC_0554 DSC_0499 DSC_0498 DSC_0494While there are a lot of people that share my enthusiasm for this wonderful place it is big enough to find quiet places to sit, enjoy the wildlife and the view, and let your spirits recharge.DSC_0578 DSC_0588 As always enjoy Toronto!~
